Background and story
Linnet is Mira’s friend and the witness whose light the company is asked to protect. Her experience connects the personal promise at the beginning of the journey to the work of the canal city.
She worked as an archive clerk for nine years. Her knowledge gives the company a way to understand what has happened to the lamps and names.
Linnet asks the Waykeeper to keep her light until the others are home. After the sleepers wake, she teaches the recovered lamp-tending practice at Cinderwake, opening the Lamplighter class.
